True to its name, the 'Tensui Orange Road (Tamana Wide Area Farm Road)' is surrounded by mikan orange fields. In spring you can enjoy seeing sakura and mikan flowers. Along the road there are numerous scenic spots for you to enjoy, where you can see the Yokoshima Land Reclamation, the Ariake Sea, and Mt. Unzen on the island of Shimabara in Nagasaki Prefecture.
Sometimes called the 'Seaside Great Wall of China', this is a reclamation project that was constructed in the mid-Meiji era. At present, 5.2km of its total length remains, and it has been nationally designated as an Important Cultural Property.
This is Takase Harbor, which prospered through the shipping of rice in the Edo Period. The harbor's appearance has been preserved, with the 'tawara-korogashi' stonework slopes, stairways, and stone walls still intact even today.
The Okunoin, built in 1978, draws 200,000 visitors per year, thanks to its reputation for 'fulfilling a single wish.' It is similarly famous for having the only 'Dai-bonsho' (a type of Buddhist bell), called 'Hiryu-no-Kane' (Bell of the Flying Dragon)
